Those who play No Man's Sky know finding S-Class ships is difficult, especially if players are looking for ones like Type-7 class Exotics. From Royal class down to Mosquito class, these ships are well sought after. With a universe as large as No Man's Sky, it's no wonder that there are various YouTube videos, posts, wikis, and other resources waiting to lend a helping hand. While this guide will not encompass all the S-Class ships in No Man's Sky, as there are a lot, it does point out a few that are interesting in name, storage capacity capability, and tech size.

Updated September 13, 2021 by Beau Boo Low: The new Frontiers update for No Man's Sky has added many new features to spice up the randomly generated planets, including indigenous settlements. Naturally, if players want to explore the graphically enhanced and constantly expanding universe this game offers they will need a ship. It is very common to collect more than one ship over the course of the game, and some of the best ships worth collecting are exotic S-class vessels. These spaceships come in a variety of shapes and sizes, with many possessing useful tech that will allow players to cruise the cosmos with ease. This article has been updated to include more exotic S-class ships and helpful tips on how to find them.

How To Find Exotic S-Class Ships

No Man's Sky: 19 Exotic S-Class Ships (& How To Get Them) (1)

All exotic ships are in the S-class, and as such, comprise many of the best vessels in the game. Finding these spacecraft is not easy, as they are scattered across many different systems. Given the procedural nature of the game, there are no locations where a player is guaranteed to find one.

S-class ships are more likely to spawn in 3-star systems such as those with descriptors like Opulent or Advanced. In order to determine the wealth of particular system, players will need to own an economy scanner. Ships within a given system will often have the same color scheme which can be helpful if players are looking for a particular paint job. Often new vessels can be found by visiting space stations or trading posts. If no ships land, then saving and reloading the game can often make new ones spawn.

The Four Types Of Exotic Ship And How To Find Them

  • Royal-style ships have ball cockpits and bi-furcated double noses. Often found in Vy'keen systems
  • Guppy-Style ships have gall cockpits with no nose. Some varieties have elongated rears to look more like fish.
  • Mosquito-style ships are the final variety of exotic class ships with a ball cockpit. They are identifiable by their single, long thin nose.
  • Squid/Calamari-style ships have a wide variety of different cockpits and distinctive tentacle noses. These are incredibly valuable ships due to their rarity. The telescopic tentacles will fold up when landed.
